License overview
Library music works in a very different way to commercial singles and CD's, and is not intended for use by the general public. There are organisations that control, license, police and protect music users, in the UK this is the PRS/MCPS Alliance. The PRS (Performing Rights Society) manages performance, broadcasts and other related uses. The MCPS (Mechanical Copyright Protection Society) covers the physical usage and the payment for the right to use the piece.
UK Professional users
To use library music you must to be approved by the PRS/MCPS.When registering as a UK Professional user you must register an account before you can gain access to the free download area. We will check your "P" number against the database to make sure you are registered and then inform you when your membership has been accepted.
For the registered user there is no charge for this, and no access for non-registered, non-trade persons.

Professionals outside UK
Members of collection agencies across the world can have access. The piece of music paid for can be used by the purchaser for anything with no re-licensing.On this site, a one off payment for the Mechanical licence covers all subsequent usage's by, and only, the licence buyer. The relevant Performance collection organisation (in your territory) should be notified of all uses and collection of performance royalties will be payable to ProjektXmusiK, via PRS UK.
